Dr. Leann Lapp
Leann Lapp graduated with a PhD from Ryerson University and currently works as a registered clinical psychologist on the Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) team at Broadview Psychology in Toronto, Ontario. Leann works primarily with individuals experiencing emotion regulation difficulties, providing individual and group therapy. She also provides cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for those struggling with depression, anxiety, and sleep. In addition, Leann leads the Sport and Performance Psychology branch at Broadview Psychology, helping athletes and other high performers with performance anxiety and issues such as injury and retirement.
Leann’s graduate research focused on healthy cognitive aging, specifically in the domains of memory, motivation, and prospection, and her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at conferences and lectures. She encourages questioning traditional, often negative, assumptions about aging, thus aligning with her broader framework of challenging stereotypes and stigma around mental health and well-being.
